PENN YAN—The Penn Yan boys varsity track team placed first at a home meet, Wednesday, April 25. The girls team won third. Five schools competed at the track and field event. For the boys, the 4x400 meter relay team won first (3:45.24), the 4x800 meter relay team was first (10:10.01), and the 4x100 meter relay team placed fourth (50.24). Geoff Rouin claimed first in the 1600 meter run (4:40.65), first in the 800 meter run (2:10.21), and first in the 3200 meter run (10:14.50). Chris Weeden won first in the 400 meter dash (51.94), second in the 200 meter dash (23.54), and second in the high jump. Taylor Miller placed first in the long jump, second in the pole vault, second in the triple jump, and fifth in the shot put. Peter Tomlinson was fourth in the 1600 meter run (5:16.86), and fourth in the 3200 meter run (11:51.44). Travis Mothersell placed fourth in the 800 meter run (2:20.13). Paul Larzelere was fourth in the 400 meter hurdles (1:07.34), and third in the 110 meter hurdles (19.64). Casey Bordwell took fifth in the long jump and fifth in the triple jump. Andrew Sperr was fifth in the discus throw. For the girls, the 4x100 meter relay team took second (55.84), the 4x400 meter relay team took second (4:54.24), and the 4x800 meter relay team was third (12:18.72). Heather Anderson claimed first in the 100 meter dash (13.54), first in the 200 meter dash (28.24), and second in the high jump. Hannah Gaston won first in the triple jump, and third in the 400 meter hurdles (1:18.44). Evelyn Pinneo took fourth in the 1500 meter run (5:30.24), and second in the 3000 meter run (12:13.50). Stephanie Owens placed fourth in the 400 meter dash (1:09.04), and third in the long jump. Emily Smith finished fifth in the 800 meter run (2:56.42).
