Penn Yan boys finish season in second

ROCHESTER—A 16-9 loss to Aquinas in the sectional finals ends the season for the Penn Yan boys lacrosse team, Friday, June 4.
The Mustangs were the number two seed while Aquinas as at the top, as the number one seed.  The loss ended the Mustangs' twelve straight Championship streak.
Adam Trombley led the scoring with three goals, and one assist.  Bradley Voigt also had three goals.  Adam Stork and Nate Nichols had one goal and one assist each.  Jordan Owen contributed one goal and Dylan Yonts had two assists.  Penn Yan won the face-off 10 out of 28 times.  Anthony Luppino, who played both long stick defense as well as short stick offense, led in ground balls for the Mustangs with eight.
The Penn Yan goal was tended by three different players.  Cody Richardson was in the goal for 19 minutes and had three saves.  Brandon Maciejewski was in the goal for 24 minutes and had four saves.  Matt Spoor had one save, while in the goal for five minutes.
Luppino was named to the Class C All Tournament team.
