Penn Yan defeats Penfield 6-4

PENN YAN—The Penn Yan Mustangs defeated the Penfield boys varsity lacrosse team 6-4 in a Saturday afternoon match, April 16.  The game-time weather was typical for early spring with gusting winds, rain and cool temperatures.  Penn Yan was first to score and finished the first quarter with a 1-0 lead.  Penfield did not score their first goal until 9:32 in the second quarter.  This game allowed Penn Yan's Bradley Voigt, a ninth grader, to move up in season total goals to 20.  This makes him tied for first in Section V.  He scored 3 goals against Penfield.
Anthony Luppino scored 2 goals in the game, and Rion Davison scored 1.  Penn Yan's record is now 5-1.   This game was an inter-league game since Penfield plays in the Monroe 1 division while Penn Yan is classified under the Independent division in Section V.  Penn Yan plays away against Lakeland at noon on April 19.
