Penn Yan girls fall in sectional championship


IRONDEQUOIT—The Penn Yan girls varsity lacrosse team lost to Honeoye Falls-Lima, 14-9, in the Section V Class C championship game, Wednesday, May 28.


Honeoye Falls scored the first goal, but Penn Yan earned an early 3-1 lead. The Cougars took the lead from the Mustangs with the next three goals of their own, all by Honeoye's Taylor Reed.


Leading the Lady Mustangs was Heather Conklin with five points. Courtney Lafler scored three, while Peyton Pallar added one.


Honeoye Falls-Lima led Class C as the top seed. Penn Yan was seeded third and ends the season with a 15-3 record.
