Penn Yan girls finish fourth

BATAVIA—The Penn Yan girls and boys varsity cross country teams ended the season at the Section V championship meet, Saturday, Nov. 6 at Genesee Community College.
The girls placed fourth of 11 teams in Class B, behind Livonia, Wayne, and Geneva.
“This shows how competitive the Finger Lakes league is within Class B,” said Coach Terry Test.
The girls’ top runner was Evelyn Pinneo at ninth place (21:51). Test explained this means she made the All Section V team for Class B. Megan Lafferty was close behind her in 12th place (22:00).
Next for the girls was Carolyn Smith in 21st place (22:41). Natalie Wagaman took 33rd place (23:15). Stephanie Lee (23:43) and Rachel Colaneri (23:44) placed 41st and 42nd respectively.
The boys squad finished 11th of 15. Alex Bodine (19:20) and Robert Jensen (19:27) finished 48th and 51st. Ben Falter was next in 54th place (19:41). Paul Larzelere won 59th place (19:59), Corey Rapp placed 64th (20:08), and Tyler Waugh took 66th (20:09).
