PENN YAN--If playing NCAA Division I college lacrosse is your goal, hard work, determination and playing at Penn Yan are good places to start.
Coaches, friends and family gathered, Thursday, Nov. 15 as two Penn Yan seniors signed letters of intent to attend The State University of New York at Albany. Conner Fingar and Jack Peterson were celebrated in the library at the school during their signing.
Penn Yan lacrosse coach Brian Hobart said this was the first signing of two players at the same time where both were going to the same DI school. Penn Yan has a long roster of student-athletes who have pursued lacrosse at top colleges around the country.
Although the winter sports season is just beginning, Fingar and Peterson said they are already preparing for the spring lacrosse season, including weightlifting and running. When asked what the goal was for the season, the answer was short and sweet, "A state championship."
