Penn Yan performs 'Quiche of Death'

PENN YAN—The Penn Yan Central School is putting on the play, “Agatha Raisin and the Quiche of Death,” Thursday, Nov. 19 to Saturday, Nov. 21.
The play will be held at the Penn Yan Middle School auditorium, at 7:30 p.m. from Thursday, to Saturday. There will also be a 2 p.m. showing Saturday, Nov. 21. Tickets cost $6 for seniors and students, and $7 for adults.
The story is about middle aged Agatha Raisin, played by Julie Scott. She has recently sold her London public relations business and moved to the country village of Cotswolds. In order to be accepted into the rural community, Agatha enters a quiche making contest. However, because she cannot cook, Agatha buys a quiche and submits it as her own. The real mystery comes when the judge dies of poisoning after eating Agatha’s entry. She is then forced to try and solve this mystery and figure out who really killed the judge. As the title suggests, the play combines both murder and comedy. The play is based on the novel of the same name by M.C. Beaton.
The cast is rounded out by 20 other students, including; Hannah Zelazny as Vera Cummings-Browne, wife of the poisoned judge, Allie Perl as Doris Simpson, Agatha’s housekeeper, and Alex Bodine as Roy Silver, PR assistant from Agatha’s former business.
