PENN YAN--The Rochester Regional Community Design Center (RRCDC), in concert with local residents known as the 2020 Vision Committee, are seeking community input on the future development and design of Penn Yan. A meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24 to present a draft vision to the public in the middle school auditorium.
For more than two years the 2020 Vision Committee has worked with citizens, businesses and local government to develop ideas that can be used to shape the future design of the Penn Yan community. Now the RRCDC will engage in a further conversation with the community and unveil the draft design plan--a plan shaped by input from a range of community residents, including business owners, Mennonites, artists, students and government officials.
The draft plan will be presented Wednesday and is open to the public. The presentation will include images of a proposed future, along with a narrative discussion. Ideas, such as improving community gateways, linking the lakefront to Main Street, expanding area trail systems, adding parking and addressing housing needs will be shared.
Following the presentation, the floor will be open for feedback and discussion. Those interested in attending should plan to share comments on the draft vision plan.
