Penn Yan, Rushville elect new officials

YATES COUNTY--The villages of Penn Yan and Rushville will have two new faces following village elections held Tuesday, March 15. Danny Condella and Kevin McLoud were elected to available Penn Yan trustee seats along with incumbent board member Rich Stewart. Condella and McLoud will be replacing Bob Church and Christine Christensen as trustees, who both did not run for reelection this year.
Condella led the group with 354 votes, followed by Stewart's 345 and McLoud's 237. Stefan Lewandowski and Sarah Vestal failed to gain seats with 234 and 216 votes respectively. Matthew Conlon was also elected village justice with 332 votes, beating out Michael Christensen's 235 votes.
In Rushville, former Trustee John Sawers defeated incumbent Mayor Jon Bagley 81 votes to 58. Holly Krossber and Dave Masters will be filling two vacant trustee seats, with 100 and 87 votes respectively. Kimberly Payne did not claim an open seat with her 73 votes. Each other village in the county had uncontested elections.
