Penn Yan school board 7/21/10

Meeting: Penn Yan Central School District board of education met for approximately 45 minutes, July 21.
Attendance: All board members were present. No members of the public were in the audience.
Action: Approved the Updated Academic Intervention Services Plan.
• Accepted the Comprehensive School Safety Plan.
• Accepted the Updated Athletic Code of Conduct.
• Accepted a donation of $15,096 from Finger Lakes Community College for the biomedical science program.
• The board approved coaching appointments.
Discussion without action: Heard an update on uncoming matters about the New York State Education Department from Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Staff Development Howard Dennis.
Appointments/resignations: The board accepted the resignation of Superintendent of Schools Ann Orman, effective Feb. 4, 2011.
• Accepted the resignation of music teacher Ada MacFarlane, effective Aug. 31.
Upcoming meetings: Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. in the elementary school cafeteria.
