WATKINS GLEN-The annual Waterfront Festival regatta was held Saturday, June 17 at the Seneca Lake waterfront. The cardboard boats took on the race course around the harbor competing for a number of prizes. While some boats easily made the journey, others sunk almost immediately after entering the water.
The winners in the various categories include: fastest elapsed time (adult class) -We'll All Float On. Fastest kids boat under 12 - Aqua Melons. Fastest teens boat (13 - 18) - Toon Cruisin'. Don Brubaker best construction award - Back To The Tiki. Best boat name - Just for "Ships and Giggles". Best theme - Beverly Hillbillies. William Croft most patriotic award - Showing Up is Half The Paddle. People's choice - "Tanks" to Our Veterans.
