FINGER LAKES—Several organizations held Veterans Day ceremonies throughout the tri-county area Monday, Nov. 11. The photo gallery includes the events at the Watkins Glen courthouse, Dundee American Legion and Keuka College.
Coming up this week, Korean War veteran Tony Specchio will speak on his experiences growing up in Watkins Glen and going off to war Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Schuyler County Historical Society’s Brick Tavern Museum at 108 North Catharine St. in Montour Falls.



Veterans Day honors those that served – The Schuyler County courthouse lawn in Watkins Glen hosted a Veterans Day ceremony, Monday, Nov. 11. The many speakers, veterans and elected officials assembled Monday morning sharing both personal stories and significant quotes to help honor and thank those who have served in the military. Pictured is Schuyler County Sheriff William Yessman as he salutes Tony Specchio after concluding his remarks as the keynote speaker. Yessman recalled the relatively short periods of peace in recent history and said “today is a day to say thank you. . . the cost as been tremendous.”
