BARRINGTON--The Barrington planning board approved the Keuka Lake waterfront subdivision plans for the former Viking Resort property Wednesday, April 17.
The subdivision allows for a total of seven waterfront parcels representing 19.30 acres to be sold for residential building lots. The combined list sales price for all seven parcels is $2,953,000.
The property is owned by Ken Christensen Jr. and his sister Karen. The addresses on East Lake Road include 680-692.
Previously, the owners had listed 5.74 acres of the former Viking Resort for sale at $2,600,000. Christensen said they did not receive any acceptable offers so they decided to demolish the two guest room buildings at the former Keuka Lake resort and then subdivide more acreage to allow for seven building lots.
Of the seven lots, three parcels are over five acres and four properties are 0.6 of an acre. All have Keuka Lake water frontage ranging from 80-171 feet. The listing prices range from $315,000 to $749,000 per parcel.
The printed portfolio produced by Wine Trail Properties to advertise the property states, "Each lot hosts different features of the historic property such as the private gated drive, beautiful rock walls, mature trees, large pole barns, permanent docks with slips and hillside woods. Six lots are a blank canvas ready to design your home. The southernmost lot has two existing cottages that offer a hard-to-find family compound or investment opportunity. Three lots have hillside woods above Route 54 with view of Keuka Lake."
