'Polar bears' brave the cold on Keuka Lake

HAMMONDSPORT-A windy and cold Saturday afternoon proved to be good conditions for the ice boats that were sailing near the bluff on Keuka Lake, but the crowd at The Switzerland Inn were there to see people splash into the 36 degree lake water, Saturday, March 28. The annual Polar Bear Plunge lived up to its name, with air temperatures only in the 20s, and solid ice just feet away from where the jumpers entered the water.
