Raplee wins Sportsmanship award at All-Star game

PITTSFORD—Dundee graduate Mike Raplee received the Sportsmanship award at the 27th Annual Eddie Meath All-Stars game for the East team, Sunday, July 5.
Raplee was part of a team of players selected from high schools in the area.  The East team beat the All-Star West team 27-0 during the football match at St. John Fisher College.  The score for both the first and second quarters was 7-0.  In the third quarter East stepped up with 13-0, and in the final quarter the score was 0-0.
Also on the All-Stars East team was Dundee’s Blaine Moore and Penn Yan’s Ryan Kerrick.  Brian Minor, Kerrick’s coach, said it is a great honor to be picked for the game.  He explained the players were chosen based on what positions were needed for the two teams.  The teams only practiced from Monday to Saturday, prior to the Sunday game.
Money raised by the event went to the Eddie Meath Children’s Fund at the Golisano Children’s Hospital.
