Runners win sectional races

Dundee
MARION-The Dundee and Hammondsport varsity track teams competed in the Section V Class C-D championship, Saturday, May 30.
For Class C, the Dundee boys took second, while the girls were 17th. In class D, Hammondsport's girls were 16th and the boys 17th.
For Dundee, the 4x100 meter relay team (Geordan Conyers, Jon Huber, Chris Cramer, and Cody Salvatore) won first with 44.12. Huber was first in the 100 meter dash (11.46) and first in the 200 meter dash (23.09). Cramer was second in the 400 meter hurdles (59.94).
Salvatore placed first in the triple jump (44'9") and second in the 100 meter dash (11.88). Conyers took second in the long jump (21'1.5"). Cole Hartman was second in the triple jump (43'6.5").
The girls 4x100 meter relay team (Jessica Prior, Andi Wood, Emily Oughterson, and Nolleen Whetham) was sixth in 54.46. Paige Easling took first in the pentathlon long jump (4.91 meters), and fifth in the pentathlon high jump (1.21 meters). Whetham was sixth in the 100 meter dash (13.75) and sixth in the 200 meter dash (28.48). Anna Gilbert was seventh in the high jump (4'6").

Hammondsport
For Hammondsport, Allison Gilbert was fifth in the 100 meter dash (13.7) and seventh in the 200 meter dash (28.63). Lexi Salisbury took 10th in the 400 meter hurdles (1:25.79) and 11th in the 100 meter hurdles (20.77). Lahra Weber was eighth in the 400 meter hurdles (1:21.56) and 13th in the 100 meter hurdles (21.28).
The boys 4x800 meter relay team (Jared Raab, Michael Cranmer, Tyler Hill, and Dillan Conley) placed sixth with 9:52.8. The 4x400 meter relay team (Nicco Byer, Raab, Graham O'Donnell, and Kenny Becker) was seventh in 4:04.39. Hill was 10th in the 1600 meter run (5:14.86), while Conley was 11th (5:15.71). Raab finished 13th in the 3200 meter run (12:10.65).

Penn Yan
BROCKPORT-The Penn Yan boys varsity track team was sixth in the Section V Class B-CC championship, Saturday, May 30. The girls finished 16th overall.
Andrew Davis was first in the 3200 meter run (10:16.70) and first in the 3000 meter steeplechase (10:13.15). Peter Tomlinson placed third in the 3000 meter steeplechase (11:08.11). John Drozda took fourth in the pentathlon 1500 meter run (5:01.67), fourth in the pentathlon high jump (1.65 meters), seventh in the pentathlon long jump (5.25 meters), eighth in the pentathlon 110 meter hurdles (18.59) and 12th in the pentathlon shot put for an overall sixth place.
Mia Covell was eighth in the 2000 meter steeplechase (8:49.13) and 11th in the 800 meter run (2:45.64). Ali Robeson placed ninth in the pole vault (6'6"). Katie Voak was ninth in the 2000 meter steeplechase (8:52.95). Lydia Anderson finished 12th in the triple jump (29'9.50") and 13th in the long jump (14'7.75").

Odessa-Montour
MARATHON-The Odessa-Montour girls track and field team took second and the boys third in the Class D Sectional championships, Wednesday, May 27.
Dana Roberts won first in the 100 meter hurdles (16.22), first in the long jump (14'10.5"), first in the high jump (4'10"), and sixth in the 400 meter hurdles (1:17.08). The 400 meter relay team (Nadia Simpson, Hannah Bruno, Kennedy Heichel, and Meagan Terry) took first with 54.52. The 3200 meter relay team (Hailie Searles, April Dunn, Hannah Bruno, and Hailey Perraut) won third with 10:59.49.
Dunn finished third in the steeplechase (8:04.24), while Searles was fourth (8:27.24). Britney Visscher was fourth in pole vault (6'6"). Simpson was sixth in the 100 meter dash (13.76). Rosie Peckham placed ninth in the high jump (4'6").
Andy Fudala was first in the pole vault (11') and second in the 110 meter hurdles (17.3). Chad Sykes placed second in the 100 meter dash (11.98). Luke Eberhardt finished third in the 400 meter dash (53.99). James Randolph was fifth in the 400 meter hurdles (1:04.26). Charles Sidle took fifth in the long jump (19'2.5"). Bryce Elliott was second in the discus (128') and fifth in the shot put (41'7.75").

Watkins Glen
NEWARK VALLEY-The Watkins Glen boys and girls varsity track and field teams competed in the Section IV Class C championship, Thursday, May 28. The boys finished seventh and the girls ninth.
Patrick Hazlitt won first in the 800 meter run (1:59.73), while Jacob Carocci was third (2:06.48). Shawn Rutledge placed third in the 3200 meter run (10:20.43). Tristan Yuhasz finished third in the high jump (5'8") and Gabe Planty was third in the 1600 meter run (4:42.94). Sean Holland placed fourth in the 1600 meter run (4:54.79). Kevin Kernan was fourth in the 400 hurdles (1:03.61).
Maggie Bond was second in the 3000 meter run (11:30.74) and fourth in the 1500 meter run (5:09.88). Taylor Kennard was fourth in the 3000 meter run (11:53.33). The 3200 meter relay team (Kali Bond, Joelle Slater, Clara Chedzoy, and Kennard) took sixth.
Kennard and Rutledge both set personal records at the Class C championships for the steeplechase held at Vestal. Kennard placed third in Class C with a time of 8:17.38 in the 2000 meter race. Rutledge placed second in Class C with a time of 10:18.78 in the 3000 meter race.
