DUNDEE--The Dundee Central School District will conduct a public informational session Thursday, Jan. 26 to help district voters understand the key details of the $15.9 million capital project proposed for the school.
The meeting will start at 5 p.m. in the public meeting room inside the school. Then, people can tour the bus garage.
The main focus of the capital plan consists of renovations, reconstruction, alterations and improvements to the existing bus garage and bus-storage facility. This includes a 6,000 square foot addition for maintenance of vehicles which includes new bus lifts and properly sized maintenance bays with code compliant mechanical systems and other enhancements.
The project also includes renovations and improvements associated with school security and access control system upgrades. The school also plans increased video surveillance of the main facility and campus. A new roof system on the 1938 portion of the building will replace the last portion of the existing roof currently not under warranty and will provide improved energy efficiency. Related site improvements around the main facility, including a parent drop-off loop, new visitor parking and replacing the existing playscape(s) closer to the main facility.
The lighting for the athletic facility is not part of this capital plan. A district vote for the capital project is planned for Feb. 8 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the school.
