Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office issues boater advisory

SCHUYLER COUNTY—The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office issued an advisory for boaters on all lakes in Schuyler County July 2. The release says "recent heavy rains are causing high water levels on all lakes and waterways in the County. As a result of the higher water levels, there is a greater amount of debris floating in the lakes. With more rainfall in the forecast this week this condition is expected to last until next week."
It continues, "boaters are also reminded to obey the 5 mile per hour speed limit within 100 feet of any shoreline. There are docks that are nearly, or already under water, and boaters are responsible for any damage the wake from their vessel may cause."
