Schuyler Hospital closes Dundee office

DUNDEE--The Schuyler Hospital office in Dundee has been closed. Michelle Benjamin, executive director of Schuyler Health Foundation and Community Relations, said, "It's unfortunate that we had to close the Dundee office, but ultimately it was a business decision."
Benjamin added, "However, we did determine that the majority (55 percent) of our Dundee patients were also already coming to see our care providers in Montour Falls. So we started working with our Dundee patients about 60 days before we decided to close Dundee (in late December) to schedule follow-up care at our Montour Falls facility."
Benjamin said Dorothy Elizabeth, PA, Dr. Sarra Solomon, Dr. Ben Saks, DO, and Dr. Jamie Coleman were seeing patients at the Dundee office. She said about 120 patients were being seen monthly at the Dundee office. The hospital official said three other support people who were employed at the Dundee office have been offered employment at the hospital's Montour Falls facility.
The Dundee office became associated with Schuyler Hospital in September, 2013.
