CANISTEO—The Dundee boys varsity basketball team lost in a sectional semifinals game against number one seed Perry, Monday, Feb. 28. The final score was 58-46. Joe Tortolon led the Scots (seeded number five) with 18 points. Garrick Conyers was next with 15. Both Tortolon and Conyers were also chosen to play on the All-Star Team. “I’m very happy the kids came out and battled,” said Coach Les Miller. He added the team showed “a lot of big game experience” which helped the Scots make it this far. Dundee advanced to the Section V Class CC semifinals by beating Red Jacket, 42-33, Saturday, Feb. 26. Miller pointed out that Dundee faced Red Jacket Feb. 17 and the Indians’ top scorer had 22 points. Miller said that this time the Scots’ Kyle Spinks “shut him out.” “He didn’t have any (points),” said Miller about Red Jacket’s player. Joe Tortolon led Dundee with 17 points. Garrick Conyers had seven points and 12 rebounds. Cody Gilbert was next with six points. Spinks and Max Gorton each had five points.
