Scots win quarterfinal game, 63-0

DUNDEE—The Dundee Scots football team started its “second season” Saturday, Oct. 17, when it beat Bolivar-Richburg, 63-0, in the Section V, Class D quarterfinal game. The Scots had 527 yards of total offense, as opposed to 51 yards for B-R.
The scoring started early in the game and often. Steven Webb scored the first of his two touchdowns on a 40-yard run in the first quarter. The extra point was kicked by Katie Zebrowski giving the Scots a 7-0 lead. Also in the first quarter, Kyle Spinks scored on a 24-yard reception of a pass from Ryan Ballard. The kick for the extra point failed. Dundee led 13-0.
The Scots scored four times in the second quarter. Ballard scored on a two-yard reception from quarterback, Tommy Pratt. Ballard also ran for the two-point conversion to set the score at 21-0. The fourth touchdown was scored on a 20-yard pass reception to Dustyn Thompson from Pratt. The kick failed so the score was Dundee 27-0. The third Dundee score of the second quarter was on Webb’s 38-yard run. The kick failed, but Dundee led 33-0. Ballard scored the sixth touchdown of the game on a 42-yard pass reception from Pratt. The kick failed, making the score 41-0.
The Scots scored twice in the third quarter. Jesse Jayne tackled the B-R quarterback in the end zone for a safety, making the score 43-0. Ballard had Dundee’s sixth touchdown on a 21-yard pass reception from Pratt. The kick failed. The Scots led 49-0.
The Scots scored twice in the fourth quarter. Jeffrey Mullins scored on a six-yard run. The kick failed. The score was 55-0. Quarterback Joe Tortolon scored on a one yard run. The snap for the extra point was low, Ballard, the kick holder, picked up the ball and threw it to Dustin Warren for the two-point conversion. The score was 63-0, which held as the final score of the game.
Webb ended the game with 12 carries for 220 yards and two touchdowns. Pratt completed nine of 13 passes for 139 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. Ballard rushed nine times for 54 yards and five receptions for 75 yards. Ballard had three touchdowns, scored two two-point conversions and threw a 24-yard pass for a touchdown.
Defensively, Patric Perez had three tackles (two solo), one sack and one interception. Thompson had six tackles (one solo). Webb had three tackles (one solo) one force fumble and broke up a pass-play. Jayne had five tackles (three solo, with one being a safety). Max Gordon had four tackles (three solo). Warren had five tackles (two solo).
The Dundee Scots football team will play Saturday, Oct. 24 at Marina Auto Stadium (formerly Paetec Field) in Rochester. The Scots will play #4 seed Cuba-Rushford, at 4 p.m.

The Dundee boys soccer team lost to Romulus, 3-1, Oct. 17. Owen Maloy scored mid-way through the first half. The game was tied at halftime. Shea Maloy had five saves in goal. Earlier in the week, Oct. 15, the Scots led Geneva 3-2 at halftime in the game, but ended up losing 4-3. Owen Maloy scored two goals; Jake Wilmott scored one. Shea Maloy had nine saves in the game. In the Oct. 13 game with Naples, Dundee lost 3-2 in overtime. Owen Maloy scored both goals for Dundee. Shea Maloy had 15 saves. The boys team has a record of 2-13, 0-11.
The girls soccer team lost to Bloomfield, 3-0, Oct. 16. Krista Bryan had 14 saves in goal. In the Oct. 14 game with Red Jacket, Dundee lost 6-0. Bryan had 24 saves in goal.


The Dundee volleyball team lost to South Seneca, 3-0, Oct. 15. The game scores wee 14-25, 23-25, 13-25. The volleyball team has a record of 1-11, 1-9.
