Scott highway dedication will be Sept. 7

DUNDEE—A dedication ceremony will be held, Saturday, Sept. 7, to rename 9.5 miles of Route 14A in honor of Spc. Chris Scott.
The event will be held at the Dundee Central School District football field starting at 11:30 a.m. The dedication is in honor of Scott’s sacrifice, Sept. 3, 2011, while serving the U.S. Army in Afghanistan. The 9.5 miles stretches from the northern Dundee village limit to the Routes 14 and 14A intersection in Reading.
Scott graduated from Dundee Central School in 2009 and began service in the Army. Scott was assigned to units including the 561st Military Police Company, 716th Military Police Battalion, and the 101st Sustainment Brigade.
