Seneca Indians extend win streak

ODESSA--The Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour Seneca Indians football team won their fifth consecutive game Saturday night, Oct. 10 in Odessa. The team beat the Moravia Blue Devils with a score of 61-14. Their record is now 5-1.
The Blue Devils received the opening kickoff, scoring on a rushing attack to take an early 8-0 lead.
Ryan Pruitt moved the Seneca Indians to the Moravia 10-yard line with a 40-yard rush. However, they turned the ball over on downs at the nine after failing to score on a screen pass.
Moravia punted after a quick three-and-out. The Seneca Indians started on the Moravia 38, scoring on a one-yard rush by Ian Chedzoy to tie the game at 8-8 at the end of the first quarter.
Moravia took the lead in the second quarter, going up 14-8 with 7:43 left in the half. Pruitt set up another score with a 33-yard rush to the Moravia 10. The touchdown came on a three yard rush by Pruitt, making the score 16-14 after a successful two-point conversion.
The Blue Devils punted after another three-and-out. The Seneca Indians extended their lead with a 23-yard touchdown rush by Pruitt to go up 24-14 with 1:44 left in the half. Moravia failed to score before halftime, punting for a touchback with 37 seconds left in the half. Pruitt scored on another long rush, but a block in the back penalty brought the ball back eliminating the score, ending the half with a score of 24-14 WG/OM.
The Seneca Indians offense started the second half, with Pruitt scoring his third rushing touchdown of the night on a 50-yard run to go up 30-14. The Seneca Indians recovered the ensuing onside kick, driving down to score on an eight-yard run by Jordan Rappleye for a 38-14 lead.
The Seneca Indians would continue their dominance throughout the second half. The score was 61-14 at the end of the third quarter. This would be the game's final score.
