Senecas claim 86-68 win over Indians

WATKINS GLEN—The Watkins Glen boys varsity swimming team topped Odessa-Montour, 86-68, Tuesday, Jan. 15.

The Watkins 200 medley relay team (Ryan DeBolt, Lucas Wickham, Matt Doppel, and Brandon Pike) claimed first place in 2:01.68. Other top wins for the Senecas came from: Mike Olmstead in the 100 backstroke (1:12.23) and the 50 freestyle (24.09); Wickham in the 200 IM (2:46.19); Brenton Whiting in the 100 butterfly (1:05.23); Braedan Fitch in the 500 freestyle (5:39.22); and Mitch Mangus in the 100 breaststroke (1:15.51).
The meet also served as Watkins' senior night. The team recognized Fitch, Whiting, Olmstead, Tom Richtmyer, Brandon Swartz, and Juan Tulosa.
Odessa got first place finishes from: Chris Husted in the 200 free (2:01.87) and the 100 free (52.17); the 200 free relay team (Husted, Dan Rounds, Charles Sidle, and Tyler Goossen) in 1:47.08; and the 400 free relay team (Husted, Charles Sidle, Anthony Humphries, and Goossen) in 4:28.58.
