SPORTS RECAP: April 12

Penn Yan lacrosse beats Pal-Mac
PENN YAN-The Mustangs' boys varsity lacrosse team topped Palmyra-Macedon, 15-5, Tuesday, April 12.
Tate Stewart recorded four goals and one assist, while Sean Emerson also scored four goals. Austin Fingar and Ben Emerson both had two goals. Craig Gerhardt, Conner Fingar and John Luppino all scored once. Gerhardt also added three assists and Fingar two.
Austin Blumbergs recorded one assist. In the goal, Gage Ponsetti earned 10 saves and Kyle Welker one.

Softball loses to Mynderse
PENN YAN--The Penn Yan varsity softball team lost to Mynderse, Tuesday, April 12. The final score was 14-4.

Baseball dominates
PENN YAN--The Penn Yan varsity baseball team beat Mynderse, Tuesday, April 12, 22-2. Jon McKay was the winning pitcher for Penn Yan and went 3-for-4 with a double. Noah Hullings added a double in the game.


Lady Scots fall, 20-7
DUNDEE-The Dundee varsity softball team suffered a loss to Bloomfield, Tuesday, April 12. The final score was 20-7. Xavia Miller and Caitlyn Cornish were both 2-for-4.



Hammondsport baseball is beat by Arkport
HAMMONDSPORT-The Lakers' varsity baseball team lost to visiting Arkport, Tuesday, April 12. The final score was 15-1.
Dylan Storrs had two strikeouts, and allowed three walks, four hits, and nine runs. Jordon Thompson also had two strikeouts, with four walks, seven hits, and six runs.
William Whitney had a double and one RBI.




Watkins boys track beats Waverly
WATKINS GLEN-The Watkins Glen boys varsity track and field team beat Waverly, 75-59, Tuesday, April 12, while the girls lost, 114-24.
For the boys, the 4x800 relay team (Patrick Hazlitt, Jacob Carocci, Shawn Rutledge, and Gabe Planty) was first with 9:27.5.
Rutledge won the 110 meter hurdles (22.7) and the 400 meter hurdles (1:13.27). Hazlitt finished first in the 800 meter run (2:20.67) and the 3200 meter run (10:13.47). Brandon Pike took first in the 1600 meter run (5:19.27), while Cameron Connelly was first in the triple jump (28'6.75"). Carocci won the high jump (5'4").
For the girls, Maggie Bond claimed first in the 1500 meter run (5:17.90) and the 3000 meter run (11:35.45). Jena Slater took the top place in the pole vault (6'0").



Odessa tennis loses to Lansing
ODESSA-The Odessa-Montour varsity tennis team fell to Lansing, 6-1, Tuesday, April 12.
The Indians' win came from Curtis Harris who beat Nick Parkes, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. Singles players Billy Tague, Andy Doan and Christopher Perez each lost 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles, Noah Austin and Cameron Adams lost, 6-0, 6-1; Bronwyn Stermer and Jordan Robinson, lost 6-0, 6-0 and Carolyn Arias and Carly Smith, fell 6-0, 6-0.
