SPORTS RECAP: Week of 10-28-20

Dundee Girls Soccer
The Dundee/Bradford varsity girls soccer team lost two games last week.
The Lady Scots hosted Red Jacket, Friday, Oct. 23, and fell 3-1. Nicole Peterson scored with an assist from Madison Hughes.
The girls lost to Honeoye, Wednesday, Oct. 21. The final score was 5-0.

Dundee Cross Country
Dundee's cross country team competed at Newark, Saturday, Oct. 24.
For the boys, Camden Buchanan was 21st in 21:59. Alexander Leonard was 30th in 24:00 and Devon Grandall took 38th with a 26:13.
Alissa Eaves was 16th for the girls with a 26:24. Rachael Butler took 29th in 31:28.

Penn Yan Girls Soccer
The Penn Yan girls soccer team recorded two losses last week.
On Saturday, Oct. 24, the girls traveled to Newark, losing 2-0. Earlier in the week, Wednesday, Oct. 21, the Lady Mustangs fell to Pal-Mac 6-0.

Penn Yan Boys Soccer
The Penn Yan boys soccer team lost to Pal-Mac 2-0, Thursday, Oct. 22. No additional stats were provided.
The boys defeated Marcus Whitman, 3-1, Tuesday, Oct. 20.
David Reid had two goals for the Mustangs, Eric Fingar recorded one goal and had an assist. Nick Jarecke and Brian Smith also each had an assist.
Mason Mackerchar and Thomas Barden each had three saves.

Penn Yan Girls Tennis
The Penn Yan girls tennis team won three matches last week.
The Lady Mustangs defeated Marcus Whitman, 5-0, Friday, Oct. 23. Molly Pullen, Claire Pullen and Abigail Garvey all won their singles matches. Jayden Hollister and Sydney Moravec along with Sam Denson and Grace Swarthout won in the first and second doubles competitions.
Penn Yan topped both Harley and Mynderse 5-0, Thursday, Oct. 22.
In both matches, Molly Pullen, Claire Pullen and Garvey won in the singles matches. First doubles, Hollister and Moravec and second doubles, Denson and Swarthout were also victorious.

Penn Yan Cross Country
The Mustangs' cross country team competed at Bloomfield, Saturday, Oct. 24.
James Tette led the boys in second with a 17:08. Aven Foster followed in seventh with a 19:27. Zachary Smith was 22nd in 20:49.
Jaina Doyle paced the Lady Mustangs with a 23:05, good for 10th place. Adriana Rodriguez was 21st in 26:13 and Lexi Smith was 31st with a 28:39.

Penn Yan Golf
The Penn Yan boys golf team topped Newark, 213-288, Thursday, Oct. 22.
Clayton Koivuniemi shot a 37 with birdies on holes number two, six and eight. Kevin Smith recorded a 43, while Griffin Emerson and Cameron Bassage both had 44s. Max Brodmann had a 45.
The boys also defeated Midlakes 225-272, Wednesday, Oct. 21. Emerson had a 42, Koivuniemi recorded a 44 and Brodmann had a 46.

Hammondsport Boys Soccer
The Hammondsport boys soccer team tied Avoca/Prattsburg, 1-1, Saturday, Oct. 24. Nevin Davis scored in the second period.
The Lakers also tied Canisteo-Greenwood, 1-1, Thursday, Oct. 22. Davis scored for Hammondsport.

Hammondsport Girls Soccer
Hammondsport's girls varsity soccer team won one and lost one game last week.
At Canisteo, Friday, Oct. 23, the girls lost 2-1. No additional stats were provided.
The Lady Lakers hosted Avoca/Prattsburgh, Wednesday, Oct. 21, defeating them 6-3. Recording goals were Danica Dresser (two), Hannah Hoerter (two), Gabrielle Doyle and Destiny Hammond. Hoerter and Dresser also added assists in the game.
Rorie Whitcomb had eight saves.

Hammondsport Cross Country
Hammondsport hosted Jasper-Troupsburg, Saturday, Oct. 24. The Lakers won 15-55.
For the boys, Liam Kressly was first in 18:42. Eli Hill followed in second with 20:31 and Blake Wright was third in 21:30.
The girls teams for both schools were incomplete..
