SPORTS RECAP: Week of 9-4-19

Dundee Girls soccer
Prattsburgh--Dundee's girls varsity soccer team defeated Prattsburgh, 4-0, Friday, Aug. 30.
Cheyenne Cummings scored twice. Mackenzie Strait scored once and assisted twice. Anna Bratlie earned a goal and an assist, while Alexandria Wood assisted once. In goal, Claudya Lyons had five saves.
The Lady Scots opened the fall season with a 3-2 win against Hammondsport/Bradford, Wednesday, Aug. 28.
Strait led for Dundee with two goals and one assist. Bratlie scored once and assisted once. Cummings also added an assist. Lyons earns 10 saves.
Dundee Volleyball
The Dundee varsity volleyball team lost to Harley Allendale Columbia, Thursday, Aug. 29. The final scores were 25-11, 25-15, 25-8.
Makenzie Cratsley posted nine digs, four aces, and one attack. Abigail Miller had five digs, one attack, and one assist.
Penn Yan Golf
Penn Yan's varsity golf team lost to Geneva, 235-222, Tuesday, Aug. 27.
Peter Nicholson led with a low score of 42. Kevin Smith had a 45, followed by Max Brodmann with a 46. Clayton Koivuniemi posted a 49. Cameron Bassage earned a 53.
Hammondsport Volleyball
The Lakers' varsity volleyball team opened the season by beating Bloomfield in three sets, Thursday, Aug. 29. The final scores were 25-19, 25-20, 25-12.
Erika Hilligus and Vittoria Cateni led at the service line with four aces each. Cateni also had five kills and two blocks. Julia Bennett posted 13 kills. Brianna Pratt added 24 setter assists.
"I'm pleased with how the team started their season off against a tough Bloomfield team," said Coach Erica Webster. "This team can be strong if they put in the work to get there."
Hammondsport Girls soccer
The combined Hammondsport/Bradford varsity soccer team topped Romulus/South Seneca, Friday, Aug. 30. The final score was 2-1.
Alivia Phenes scored and assisted once. Hannah Hoerter also scored once. Harrian Cambri had one assist. In goal, Kirsta Sleeve posted six saves, while Rorie Whitcomb had one save.
The soccer team fell to Dundee, 3-2, Wednesday, Aug. 28.
Hoerter and Ciera Celelli each scored once. Sleeve earned nine saves in goal.
Hammondsport Boys soccer
The Hammondsport boys varsity soccer team fell to Canisteo-Greenwood, Wednesday, Aug. 29. The final score was 1-0. The Lakers attempted six shots on goal and had five corner kicks.
