Starkey town board 12/10/09

Meeting: Starkey town board met for approximately 45 minutes, Thursday, Dec. 10.
Attendance: Councilmen Fred Shoemaker and Jim Ritter were absent.  One member of the public was in the audience.
Action: Scheduled the year end/organizational meeting at 3 p.m. on Dec. 29.
Discussion without action: Superintendent Richard Burcaw reported on the zoning regulations workshop on Dec. 8.  The final copy of the new regulations will be ready for approval after the first of the year.
• Burcaw told the board he has been researching salt barns.
• The Junk Storage Law is at the office of the town attorney and should be ready for review in January or February, 2010.
• Burcaw distributed a letter explaining the Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) agreement that has been proposed for a development planned by Paul Brown Contracting to develop 10 single family homes within the Village of Dundee and the town. Finger Lakes Economic Development director Steve Griffin contacted the town to ask for its support of the use of tax incentives for the proposed project.
Bids/purchases over $1,000: Authorized Highway superintendent Louis Seeley to purchase a used wood chipper from the Village of Dundee at the agreed cost of $5,000.
Upcoming meetings: The next regular meeting of the Starkey town board is Jan. 7, 2010 in the town hall on Seneca Street in Dundee.
