Steuben Sheriff charges boat driver from Keuka drowning

BATH—The Steuben County Sheriff's Office today (8/7/09) has charged Mark C. Squires, age 40, of Davenport Road in Big Flats with two misdemeanors under the New York State Navigator Law.
Squires appeared voluntarily at the Sheriff's Office with his attorney and was issued Appearance Tickets for Operation of a Vessel while Under the Influence of Alcohol with a Blood Alcohol Content greater that 0.08 percent and Reckless Operation of a Vessel on Keuka Lake. Squires was released until his scheduled appearance in the Town of Wayne Justice Court on August 27, 2009 at 7 p.m.
The Sheriff's Office has completed the investigation into all pending leads in regards to the drowning of Richard V. O'Dell, age 45, of Morrcrest Drive, Town of Corning, reported on July 25, 2009 at this time and the case has been turned over to the Steuben County District Attorney's Office for further review.
