Storm may leave seven inches of snow

TRI-COUNTY AREA—A blanket of new snow from Thursday evening and Friday morning has left between one and three inches across the area by mid-day.
Outside of Yates and Schuyler, other counties got up to seven inches of snow.  The National Weather Service said the central Finger Lakes could get that much snow today in total accumulation.
NWS also said there was a winter storm warning in effect for central New York until Friday at 5 p.m.  The agency predicted another storm would move through the area Sunday and Monday bringing snow or freezing rain.
The snow caused the cancelations of several sectional basketball games scheduled for Friday.  Watkins Glen girls were going to compete in a home competition, but the game was rescheduled for Saturday.  Penn Yan boys, Odessa-Montour girls, and Dundee boys were also scheduled to travel to away games Friday.
