Students find dead animals in Dundee

DUNDEE--A group of Dundee students discovered multiple dead animals that were left on the school's bonfire pile last week. The fire was set up for the district's homecoming celebration. Police are still investigating the situation, and the district is offering a $200 reward for any information that can help the case.
Dundee Superintendent Kelly Houck said the animals were discovered by a group of students between the hours of 9 and 10 p.m. Sunday night, Sept. 27. She said the students first told their parents, who then contacted school officials who alerted the New York State Police.
Houck said the incident is currently under open investigation. She noted the district has no idea as to who committed the crime, adding they have not received any definitive information. The district is offering a $200 reward for any credible information that leads to the identification and criminal charging of those responsible.
Despite the incident, the animals were removed and the homecoming bonfire went ahead as planned Friday evening, Oct. 2.
