Superintendent charged with felony count

TYRONE--New York State Police charged Dundee resident Paul H. Ernhout, 65, on Tuesday, Feb. 21 with offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree (class E felony) and with official misconduct (a class A misdemeanor). Ernhout is the highway superintendent for the town of Tyrone. It is alleged that Ernhout submitted an altered town highway vehicle invoice for work done on his personal vehicle. Ernhout was released on an appearance ticket and will appear in Tyrone court March 13 at 6 p.m. to answer the charges. State police concluded a seven month investigation with these charges.
