DUNDEE—The village felt the Touch of Christmas on Saturday. The Seneca Street Park was transformed into a holiday party site for the event. The traditional celebration featured a full slate of food and activities, including music from the Victory Singers and also Ray Willis as d.j. Santa Claus attended and gave gifts to all the children who visited with him. A new feature this year was a mitten tree. Dundee Youth Center has been collecting mittens and hats for selection from the tree. Local residents have joined forces to make hats. More than 140 have been handcrafted by local residents to help protect against the cold.
Touch of Christmas is made possible through donations from local businesses, organizations and individuals. Committee member Judy Duquette said donations were down a bit this year, but people have stepped up to help with expenses. Dundee Baptist Church provides the space for many of the preparations that make the event such a success each year.
