Trappler pleads not guilty

SCHUYLER COUNTY—Alice Trappler, 40, 270 Country Route 101 Addison, plead not guilty to murder and burglary charges, Thursday, June 14.
A Schuyler County Grand Jury indicted Alice Trappler on two counts of murder in the second degree and one count each of burglary in the first degree, burglary in the second degree, and conspiracy in the second degree, Tuesday, June 5.
According to the Schuyler County District Attorney, the indictment stems from the shooting and death of Daniel Bennett, 2965 Pearl St. Beaver Dams, on April 19, 2012.  Trappler will appear again in court at a later date.  Chief Court Clerk Rita Decker said there will be a status update on Aug. 16, but it will probably be for both sides to touch base.
Another person was also arrested in the death.  The police and Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office arrested Nathan Hand, 25, Corning, Monday, April 21, for murder in the second degree for his part in the homicide of Bennett. The report said Hand was arraigned in the town of Dix court and remanded to the Schulyer County Jail without bail.
Earlier on April 21, another person suspected was killed after jumping in front of a Pennsylvania train.  The sheriff’s report said Thomas Borden, 32, Corning, was discovered to possibly be involved.  Reports said Borden led authorities on a chase that ended with him jumping in front of a train.
