Tyrone town board 04/14/09

Meeting:  The Tyrone town board met Tuesday, April 14 for one hour.
Attendance:  All board members were present.  There were 20 members of the public in the audience.
Action:  The board approved the veteran’s exemptions for those who served in the Cold War.
• Planning Board Chairman Larry Werts asked for a liaison between the planning board and the town board.  The town board approved Kay Houghtaling for the position.
Discussion without action:  Trustee Joe Sevier gave a report on the recent conference at Corning Community College.  All board members, planning board members and several others attended.
• Tyrone’s representative to the Schuyler County Environmental Council, Carmine Nicastro, gave a report of the last meeting.  Concerns over geese and unlicensed vehicles were talked about.
Bids/purchases over $1,000:  None.
Appointments/resignations:  The board reappointed Judith Wilbert to the assessment and review board.  The board also appointed Alice Ford to the planning board, replacing Mary Huntley who resigned after 21 years of service.
Upcoming meetings:  The next regular meeting is scheduled for May 12, at 7:30 p.m.
