Village Christmas comes to Watkins

WATKINS GLEN--The 25th annual Village Christmas celebration will be held Friday, Dec. 1 in the village of Watkins Glen. Events will begin at 5 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m.
The highlight of the evening includes the "Visions of Santa's Workshop" parade, which takes place on Franklin Street and along with local groups, features Santa and Mrs. Claus. At the conclusion of the parade, Santa will make his way to Famous Brands (412 N. Franklin St.) to greet children and take photos. There will be fireworks for all to enjoy at the lakefront at 7:30 p.m.
In addition to the planned events, many businesses downtown will have extended hours and there are strolling carolers, cookie decorating and reindeer at the event. Cookie decorating can be done at Glen Mountain Market beginning at 5 p.m. The reindeer can be seen at Community Bank under the drive-through area. There are also vendors available in the village.
There is no admission charge, and parking in Watkins Glen is free.
