Village elections are March 20

TRI-COUNTY AREA–All villages will be holding elections next Tuesday, March 20.
Penn Yan will have Richard Stewart, Christine Christensen, Michael Christensen and Dave Reeve running unopposed for their own trustee positions. Reeve’s trustee seat is for a two-year term. The other three are for four years. Danny Hibbard will also be running without opposition for the village justice seat he currently holds.
Dundee also features candidates running unopposed for seats they currently hold. Larry Howell and Judy Duquette will be seeking reelection as village trustees. Paula Seeley is running for another term as village justice. Howell, Duquette, and Seeley’s seats all have a four-year term length.
In Dresden, the only position up for election is Tom McGuigan’s trustee seat for a two-year term. However, McGuigan choose not to run again and nobody else submitted a petition to the village by the Feb. 7 deadline. Since no one opted to run for the position, the election will be decided among the write-in candidates who choose to come forward before voting is scheduled to take place.
Hammondsport has two board seats open for election. Anne Green will seek reelection. Rachael Nichols will run for the position being vacated by Larry Foster.
In Watkins Glen, incumbent Paul Clifford and new candidate Anthony Fraboni will be seeking election.

The only contested election will be in Burdett. Incumbents Laurence Jaynes and Ruth Givin are running, as well as newcomer Diane White.
Incumbents Phil Smith and James Ryan are also seeking reelection in Montour Falls for their seats. In Odessa, Thomas Letteer Jr. and Sally Hill are seeking election for the two seats that are being vacated.
Each of the villages will be holding elections in their respective village hall. Polls for each election will be open from noon to 9 p.m.
