Village gets ready for Dundee Day

DUNDEE (7/6/16) --The village of Dundee will once again offer "miles of yard sales" for the annual Dundee Day, Saturday, July 9. The village-wide sales will begin at 8 a.m. and run until 4 p.m. Village residents have the opportunity to set up sales in their lawns for the annual tradition.
Hundreds of people attend the annual event as residents line their yards with tables full of an assortment of things for sale. These range from vintage finds to common, everyday household items. Many years have included golf clubs, children's toys, a vintage railroad crossing sign, assorted articles of clothing, household appliances, old TV sets and a variety of new and vintage furniture pieces.
There will also be vendors in the Seneca Street Park along with several groups offering food throughout the village. Many of the yard sales will offer items ranging from antiques and collectibles to different household items. For more, call the Yates County Chamber of Commerce at 315-536-3111 or 800-868-9283.
Also in Dundee, but on a different date, Wednesday, July 13, Martini's Save-a-Lot in Dundee will host the annual Show 'n Go. The 17th annual event features classic vehicles on display from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the Save-a-Lot parking areas.
Organizer Terrie Sautter said they are expecting between 125 and 150 vehicles this year, with area residents and visitors gathering to inspect the variety of vehicles. The Show 'n Go features classic cars, and an assortment of trucks, motorcycles and tractors.
Sautter said while much of the Show 'n Go will be similar to previous years, Louis Seeley has secured more awards for this year's event. She said all awards will be "open class," with sponsors doing the judging.
Food and drinks will be available from area non-profits. Registration for the event is by donation. To pre-register, email the vehicle's information to dundeecarshow@yahoo.com with the owner's name, town, vehicle year, make and model. Participants may also call 607-243-7845 and leave a message with this same information along with a phone number.
