Villages set for elections on March 18

NEW YORK STATE--The Watkins Glen village election will be held Wednesday, March 18 with 11 total candidates running for four available positions. The available seats are held by Mayor Mark Swinnerton, Trustees Scott Gibson and Kevin Smith, and Village Justice Nicholas Dugo.
Gibson (Listening Party) will be running for mayor against Samuel Schimizzi (People's Choice Party) and Richard Scuteri (Concerned Taxpayers Party), while the two available trustee seats will be contested by Swinnerton (Listening Party), Gary Schmidt (Democrat, People's Choice Party), Kevin Thornton (Democrat, People's Choice Party), Robert Mahoney (Concerned Taxpayers Party) and Eric Johnston (Concerned Taxpayers Party). Connie Fern Miller (Democrat, People's Choice Party), Keith A. Caslin (Republican, Listening Party) and Michael Nyre (Family and Community Party) will be competing for the village justice position.
The village of Odessa will have an uncontested election, with Keith T. Pierce as the lone candidate for mayor, while Robin Thoman and Shawn Crane are running for the two available trustee seats.
Polls will be open election day from noon to 9 p.m.

YATES COUNTY--The villages of Dundee and Dresden will each have mayor and trustee positions to vote for during the upcoming village election. The election date is Tuesday, March 18. Polls will be open election day from noon to 9 p.m.
The village of Dundee has three seats up for grabs during the upcoming village election. However, the election will be uncontested. Dundee will see the seats currently occupied by Mayor Fred Cratsley Jr., Trustee Greg Wright and Trustee Warren Smith up for election. In Dresden, Mayor William Hall is running for reelection, while a trustee seat remains open.
