HAMMONDSPORT–Although prospective swimmers were greeted at The Switzerland Inn on Keuka Lake with a sunny, warm 50 degree day on Saturday, March 30, that was easy to change with a quick dip into Keuka Lake with a reported water temperature of 38 degrees. Spectators filled the restaurant's decks and many boats were tied or anchored near the main dock to see as people jumped, flipped and dove into Keuka Lake for the annual Polar Bear Plunge. Some jumpers wore costumes such as the Easter bunny or an eagle, to be judged as they went into the water. Other jumpers competed by performing aerial stunts to impress the judges and the crowd.
