Watkins beats Dryden, 18-16

WATKINS GLEN—The Watkins Glen varsity football team pulled out a last minute win, Friday, Sept. 28, in a home game against Dryden.
The final score was 18-16. Dryden scored their second touchdown during to the fourth quarter to take the lead, 16-12. With 32 seconds left, Coach Lou Condon said the Senecas scored one last touchdown and won the game.
Watkins finished the game with 356 yards over 56 carries, but none passing. The team also had zero penalties, which Condon said was a big part of the win. He added Dryden had nine penalties.
Brady Myers led Watkins with 234 yards and 30 carries. He also had one touchdown. Tony Simiele followed with 15 carries for 89 yards and the other two touchdowns. Billy Brennan added 33 yards over 12 carries.
Watkins record is now 2-3.
