WATKINS GLEN—The Watkins Glen boys swimming team beat Odessa, Tuesday, Jan. 5.
The Senecas won 89-62 and amassed eight first places. Watkins' first win was in the 200 Medley Relay, with a time of 2:07.54. Watkins teams also won second and third place, with Odessa taking fourth. Watkins Glen also won the 200 Relay in 1:51.64, with Odessa taking second and third. Odessa took first in the last relay, 400 meters.
Watkins' first individual win was Thomas Wickham in the 200 Freestyle, in 2:14.17. The Senecas' Cameron Fitch took first in the 50 Freestyle in 25.39. Fitch also took first place in the 500 Freestyle in 6:13.35. Chris Carlton was next with 1:14.18 in the 100 Fly. Watkins' Mortiz Schrader also took first in the 100 Freestyle, in 1:00.21. The last swimmer to score first place for the Senecas was Jacq Goehner with 1:06.47 in the 100 Backstroke.
Odessa's first individual win was in the 200 IM. John Wead took first place with 2:35.12. Odessa also had a first place win in the 100 Breaststroke, with Jon Chapman in 1:45.59.
