Watkins bowlers finish third

VESTAL—The Watkins Glen girls bowling team placed third over all in the Section IV, Class C tournament, Friday, Feb. 12.

According to Coach Ward Brower, the team's overall 2,450 points was 69 pins short of the school record.  Stacey Teed finished in sixth place out of 69 bowlers, earning a ribbon.  Teed bowled a 509 (146-184-179) game in the tournament.  Krystal Delong finished 21st and Hannah Lopez finished 24.  Brower added Kylee Carrigan received an award for most improved female bowler in the IAC this season.
Odessa-Montour finished in 12th place, out of 14 schools, in the tournament.  The team's end score was 1,943.
The boys bowling sectionals were held the next day.  Odessa finished eighth, and Watkins finished 15th.  Odessa's total score was 2,625.  James Turner was the Indians' highest scorer with 600 points.  For Watkins, Chris Flood bowled the highest with 531.
