ODESSA—Just two days after the Odessa girls basketball team beat Watkins, the Seneca boys retaliated with a win against the Indians, Thursday, Feb. 11.
The two teams played to a packed gym at Odessa-Montour, but Watkins won, 53-44. Odessa brought their score within three points of Watkins' by the third quarter. However, the Senecas managed to score more in the final quarter to widen the point gap.
Travis Waite was Watkins' highest scorer, with 18 points. He was followed by Stuart Cook who had 9, and Andrew Malaney with 8. Watkins Glen was 7-16 at the free throw line.
Odessa's highest scorer was Dan Stephens, with 17 points. He also had three three-point shots. Phil Smith and Matt Kautz were next with seven points each. Odessa-Montour was 3-9 at the free throw line.
