Watkins boys top Waverly, 95-90

WATKINS GLEN—The Watkins Glen boys varsity swimming team won a close meet against Waverly, Tuesday, Dec. 18.  The final score was 95-90.

First place wins for the Senecas included: Braedan Fitch in the 200 freestyle (2:02.13, a personal record this season) and the 500 freestyle (5:45.41), and Matt Doppel in the 200 IM (2:29.47) and the 100 backstroke (1:01.42, a personal record this season). The 200 freestyle relay team (Mitch Mangus, Mike Olmstead, Ryan DeBolt, and Fitch) also won the top spot with 1:43.35. The 400 freestyle relay team (Olmstead, Brenton Whiting, Doppel, and Fitch) won first with 3:47.30.
"This was a tough meet and the boys did awesome I'm so proud of how well they swam. Everyone stepped up and did their part," said Coach Jen Conklin.
