Watkins football loses, 30-8

WATKINS GLEN—The Watkins Glen varsity football team fell to Seton Catholic, 30-8, in a home game, Saturday, Sept. 18.
The Senecas’ lone touchdown came from Travis Waite.  He also rushed 116 yards on 22 carries.  For the touchdown, Waite ran 15 yards after the receiving the ball.  Watkins had a total of 202 yards: 195 rushing and seven passing.
"We ran into a tough Seton Catholic team. They played well and executed when it mattered most,” said Coach Mike Johnston.  “My hat's off to number 12, Dailey, their quarterback. He did a tremendous job running the offense tonight.”
Watkins plays next at Whitney Point, Sept. 25.  Johnston said the team is anxious to play this game and “move forward as we begin divisional play.”
