Watkins girls beat Odessa in seventh inning

WATKINS GLEN—The Watkins Glen varsity softball team beat Odessa-Montour, 4-3, Friday, April 30.
Watkins Coach Jim Scott said the Senecas were down by two runs in the seventh inning.  He said Watkins tied with Odessa, when Jesse Stansfield batted a runner in.  Watkins then took the lead when Kirsten Burge went up to bat, and had two RBIs.
Overall for Watkins, Sarahjane McPherson, Sam Riley, and Cassi Cole were each 1-for-3.  Scott said this was also Riley's first hit of the season.  Stansfield was 3-for-4, with one RBI.  Burge was 1-for-4, with three RBIs.  Taylor Chaffee was 1-for-2.
For Odessa, Katie Ray and Jessica Rhodes were both 2-for-4.  Jessica Niedermaier was 1-for-4, with one RBI.  Aubrey Tomassi was 1-for-2.  Brenda Wilber was 1-for-3.
