Watkins girls lose in ninth inning

WATKINS GLEN—The Watkins Glen varsity softball team fell to Thomas A. Edison, 8-6, in a home game, Friday, May 14.
Coach Jim Scott said the game lasted nine innings, by which time the two teams were 6-6.  He said Edison scored two more runs in the final inning, taking the win.
Taylor Chaffee was 4-for-5, with a double, two runs, and two RBIs.  Taylor McCarthy was 2-for-4, with three RBIs.  Jesse Stansfield and Kirsten Burge were both 1-for-5. Stansfield also had one RBI.  Burge had one run.  Erin Bond was 1-for-4.
The softball team plays next at Spencer-VanEtten, Monday, May 17.
