Watkins Glen girls advance to sectional final

ELMIRA-The Senecas' girls varsity basketball team will play in the Section IV Class C finals after defeating Elmira Notre Dame, Wednesday, Feb. 24. The final score was 40-35.
Amanda Pike led with 23 points, including four rebounds. Mariah Gonzalez scored nine points, with eight rebounds. Allison Teed recorded five points and three rebounds, while Clara Chedzoy had three points and three rebounds. Emmie Bond contributed six rebounds.
Elmira Notre Dame was the Class C top seed. Watkins, now with a 16-6 record, is the fourth seed. The Senecas will compete in the Sectional Class C finals, Saturday, Feb. 27, at the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton against Moravia.
