Watkins Glen holds 133rd graduation

WATKINS GLEN-Watkins Glen Central School held the annual graduation ceremony, Saturday, June 27 in the school auditorium. Senior class graduates heard from student and administrative speakers, and were awarded financial prizes to help as they continue beyond Watkins Glen.
Colin DeMeritt was the class valedictorian and Lydia Myers was the salutatorian.

DeMeritt said "Our class spirit and overall unity are like no other I have ever seen." He continued, "Even if you leave here after graduating, there will always be a place for you in Watkins Glen because a small piece of you will always reside here in our hometown...today our hard work has paid off."
Salutatorian Lydia Myers added "We sit here at the end of one journey and at the beginning of the next...we can't forget all of these wonderful people that have made this moment possible because if it wasn't for them I know that I for one wouldn't have ever made it to this point."
The Senior Oration was delivered by Elizabeth Reed. High School Principal Kai D'Alleva and Superintendent Tom Phillips also complimented the class on their achievements and hard work.
